– Worst plane ride ever: You think crying babies are bad? How about a woman who won’t stop singing “I Will Always Love You” (originally by Dolly Parton but made famous by Whitney Houston…..and The Simpsons)? It was so bad that the Los Angeles-to-New York flight had to land in Kansas City so the woman could be removed.

I imagine she switched over to “Nobody Knows the Trouble I’ve Seen.”

– This is not what we do in a civilized society: I’ve written about this before. It is absolutely, completely unacceptable to do this sort of thing. I don’t even want to write down what it is. You will go to jail, and your name will be in the news.

– Principals just don’t understand: The first day at a new school is always scary for a teenager. Administrators at a school in Florida (where else?) decided to add some public humiliation and emotional trauma for one 14-year-old girl on her first day, when she violated a dress code she might not have even known existed:

The school’s dress code says that female students’ skirts can be no higher than three inches above the knee. Larkin’s was four, so she was sent to the school nurse’s office and told to put on a neon yellow oversized T-shirt and bright red sweatpants emblazoned with the words, “Dress code violation.”

“The school has said this is to embarrass you,” said Miranda to ABC News. “It’s supposed to embarrass you so you don’t do it again.”

We really need to start applying a zero-tolerance policy to stupid applications of zero-tolerance policies in schools.

– Pushing buttons: I have long suspected that DJs don’t necessarily always do very much during live performances. (To me, “doing stuff” during a live music performance involves signing and/or playing an instrument.) A video of DJ Natalia París, who I’ve never heard of before but is apparently known for wearing Native American headdresses, damned be the consequences, shows her not really doing much except maybe adjusting some sound levels. (That’s what people are saying, anyway.)

That’s kinda not really a preferred look anymore. (Via Twitter)
