A Very Handy Parody

A few weeks ago, a short film called “First Kiss” went viral. It was sweet and all, but let’s face it, it was also unbearably cheesy. Not only that, it’s actually an ad disguised as a short film, using actors instead of random strangers.

I only made it about halfway through. I guess there’s only so much I can take of overly-earnest good-looking hipsters being cheesy. But the internet did not let us down, because of course, we have parodies.

Some have redeeming social value, like “First Gay Hug: A Homophobic Experiment,” in which the filmmakers (probably in a scripted setting) “asked 15 homophobic people to hug gay strangers…”

I wonder how they would do a casting call for this.

Others are just an in-your-face snark-fest, which is sort of more my speed. Via College Humor (because really, where else?) I learned of the parody video “First Handjob.” (I’m pretty sure these are actors, too.) The video is only NSFW in a thematic sense. (If you don’t want to actually watch it, scroll down for other options.)

In case you don’t want to watch the whole video, here are some GIFs of one part. Sample:

Other “First Kiss” parodies include:

They vary in quality, but the first few are pretty funny. No, I didn’t watch all of them.
